Welcome to the May edition of the Gilligan's Island Fan Club newsletter.

We have been getting a lot of complaints about registering with the trivia 
site. Seems that when you try to sign on as a new player, you get a message
stating Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '8000ffff'. I've
contacted the site manager about this problem many times, but haven't heard
from him. The manager has been extremely busy these days, so the only thing
I can do is wait until I get a responce. The are many problems associated
with the trivia, but it's all I have. Hopefully one day we'll have it all
fixed. Is there anybody out there willing to make a trivia site?

Way back in 1988 Ross Shafer hosted a show called "The Late Show." It was a
typical show such as The Tonight Show, Late Show with Letterman, ect...
However, on this particular show, all seven castaways were assembled 
together on a Gilligan's Island look-a-like stage! This was the last time all
of the castaways were together. It was a great 30 minutes, and we have it 
for you in it's entirety! Special thanks goes out to Scott Smith for sending

The second season opening credits were filmed in Los Angeles, and hopefully
we'll have all of that information available to you next month.

Last month I mentioned that there was a Snickers commercial out with a 
picture of Gilligan on the mantel. The closing of the commercial says, "Not
going anywhere for a while?...Have a snickers." 

We have been informed by Jim Saldana that there is another one by 
1-800-collect featuring Dawn Wells (Mary Ann). 

Matt and Randy tell us that there is yet another one out by Western Union
(The Fastest Way to Send Money) with Mary Ann. In the commercial she is on 
one of those Opra-like talk shows and the interviewer asks about what 
happened.  Mary Ann Explains that her boyfriend promised to send her more 
money electronically.  She explains how the money never arrived and she had 
to take a "3 hour tour".  The host repeats the words and pretty much they 
sit there and "sing" the words to the opening credits. No music is played 
or anything, just plain words.  Finally the host asks what Mary Ann did.  
Mary Ann says that she dumped her boyfriend and now has the Professor.

About Columbia House Video. Only two volumes have been released to this date.
It is unfair that we spent our hard earned cash only to get an uncompleted
series. I've talked to Columbia and they said that they can't release the 
rest of the series on video. I say that we should all e-mail them and tell 
them how we feel! Maybe by us bombarding them, they'll think twice about it

Hey! You can watch the 1979 Gilligan's Island TV Movie "The Castaways on 
Gilligan's Island." The rescued castaways return to their former island 
home to open a posh vacation resort. It's on TNT May 10 at 8:00am and on TNT
May 11 at 1:00am Pacific time.

I've gotta go. You see, this surfer dude just landed on the island and the 
girls are really going crazy for this guy named Duke. I guess I better hit 
the weights!
