Welcome to the August edition of the Gilligan's Island Fan Club newsletter!
Gilligan seems to be slowing down a little this month, but never fear!
We can always dig up a little something for our mainlanders.

The trivia game seems to be down due to unknown reasons. I've contacted the sys 
admin and he has yet to contact me. I'll bombard him until it is fixed. Sorry, and 
thankx for your patience.

A TV movie (which I haven't seen before) is airing called "Bring Me the Head of 
Dobie Gillis" from 1988. It's a reunion movie with of course Bob Denver, and 
it airs  August 9 at 8am and it's on the Fox Movie Channel, Eastern Time. Thalia's 
return spells trouble for Dobie and Zelda in this series pilot that reunites the 
cast of the 1959-63 series. 

And DO NOT miss this one!!! The long awaited ALF meets Gilligan, Skipper,
Professor and Mary Ann! A must see and yet another good collector piece.
(I wish they had this on a NORMAL cable channel)

One of our fans (Uglystick) has informed us that he has run across two bars 
named after our beloved. There is a Gilligan's bar in Peoria, Illinois, and 
a Gilligan's Bar and Grill located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. If anybody has more
info on these two places, or knows where they are and can visit them, please
contact me.

Profiles in History auctioned off one of Bob Denver's (Gilligan) original red
shirts from Gilligan's Island. The auction was estimated to go for $15,000
to $18,000, but the shirt was sold for an amazing $28,750. WOW!

"I am a celebrity promoter and have contracted the cast of Gilligan's Island 
(Denver, Russell and Wells) to sign autographs for the public. There will be 
a nominal charge for their autographs.  We are also looking for individuals 
who may be interested in procuring "dealer tables" during the event.
Long Island, New York on November 6-7th at the Mariott Hotel adjacent to the
Nassau Coliseum. We are looking for ways to advertise this and to locate
reputable dealers who may want to sell their items at the show."
