(Quicktime) http://www.adcritic.com/content/ikea-gilligans-island-gilligan.html The Gilligan's Island Movie you say?! I think not. This movie was suppose to be in production 5 years ago and it has yet to get off the ground. HOWEVER.... The Internet Movie Database states that Brian Dennehy plays the Skipper, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus plays the part of guess who..... Mary Ann! I wish this were true folks. When we hear of anything you'll be the first to know. Credit goes to Blackwell for the scoop. http://us.imdb.com/Title?0119195 Our fan club member (Ravenclaw) has sent us an amazing script (V for Vitamins) totally from memory! Amazing! http://www.gilligansisle.com/script7.html Did you know that the Hale-Bopp comet was co-discovered by Alan Hale? Surely not our beloved Skipper, Alan Hale, Jr., or his father but another guy by the same name. Thanks Jeff for shedding the light for us. We featured an aerial view of the real island last month and we discovered that the tall pine trees in the middle of the island are still standing after all of these years! You can see these for yourself: http://www.gilligansisle.com/aerial.html (Now) http://www.gilligansisle.com/coconut.html (Then) Remember Pete Salisbury? Thurston played in an episode of the original Charlie's Angels. Episode #25 (Angels on Ice - Part 1). Backus was a 'mechanic' for trick rifles to be used in the skating show routine. Phil Silvers (Harold Hecuba) was also in this episode and they were in the same scenes! By: Walter Wilson I thought I would add something for you. Jim Backus, in addition to playing Harry Matthews on the Brady Bunch, also played a miser named Zaccariah T. Brown. It was the episode they went to the Grand Canyon. He put the Brady family behind bars in the Ghost Town, which is actually the old Bonanza set. He thought they were trying to steal his gold. There is a picture of him in the book "Growing Up Brady", in the episode guide section. We actually have the book at our library in St. Louis. By:Mark Lovey was also in an episode of Three's Company (circa. 1979/80). She played a "picky" customer in Janet's flower shop. She was also on the Beverly Hillbillies with Thurston. By Jim Miletta and Sw88tGirl Dawn guest starred as YVonne Martell in a '77 Sunset Strip' episode on TV Land. The episode was titled: "The Corsican Caper". (By Steve D.) An analysis of the Howell's: (Jeff Taylor) People often ask why some of the castaways carried so many clothes and personal belongings on a 3 hour tour. Well, I don't know what you tell people, but here's my pre-storm scenario. Although the passengers boarded the SS Minnow for a tour of the Hawaiian islands, they were not planning to disembark at the same location that they boarded. The excursion was part of trip that was to taking the passengers to a vacation resort at a remote resort hideaway that is only accessible by charter boat. (A club med type place). The resort has contracts with several Hawaiian Charter boat companies to shuttle passengers to the resort. Guest can choose a direct shuttle or the more scenic and romantic 3 hour tour shuttle. Some of the passengers that boarded the Minnow that day, such as the Howell's, had plans to stay at the resort for several weeks or more; thus the need for a larger wardrobe and belongings. If they ever do a big screen remake of G.I., I hope they do a little more pre-storm background story to clear up some of these nagging questions. Inkwolf has devoted his time trying to get us more info about the show. I told him that I would mention his site for all the hard work he has put in for us. http://home.earthlink.net/~inkwolf/index.html Wow, what a newsletter! I have to go soak my carpal tunnel wrists in coconut oil after this long letter now. Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
